Intro: A 500ml can, with a best before end date of 3rd August 2023. Poured into what I guess is a water glass (being all that I could find at the hotel late at night).
Appearance: A clear copper amber colour with a one finger off white head that had decent retention, while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Lychee, flavoured tea, with floral and light citrus notes.
Taste: Flavoured fruit tea, lychee, lemon zest, citrus rind, a touch herbal, floral, caramel malty, lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: An interesting Pale Ale as the lychee was front and centre. But as long as you enjoy lychee, it did provide some good aroma and flavours along with the Columbus hop.

Laugar Aurrera Stanitsa

Brewery: Laugar Brewery
Country: Spain
ABV: 11.2%
Style: Stout – Russian Imperial

Brewer Description: (from website) Framed within the Dark series, the result is a nearly inexpresable texture and density, where the heavy presence of Honduran coffee and raw muscovado sugar are the protagonists in both smell and taste.

My ratebeer.com rating: 3.9

Intro: A 330ml bottle with a best before date of May 2023. Poured into what I guess is a water glass (being all that I could find at the hotel late at night).
Appearance: Black in colour with no head and no lacing.
Aroma: Roasty, coffee grounds, light nuttiness.
Taste: Roasty, coffee, light to moderate sweetness, chocolate, dark fruit, raisin, candied dates, brown sugar, molasses.

Overall: Good and interesting flavours, but perhaps on the verge of being too sweet for me.

Brewery: Chien Bleu
Country: Switzerland

Style: Farmhouse Saison – Fruit
Other Notes: 720 bottles

Brewer Description: (from bottle) The frost has led us to change the variety of apricot for the 2021 season. We chose the Bergarouge. The apricots were infused for 6 weeks in a 12 month saison.

My rating: 3+

My ratebeer.com rating: 3.8

Intro: A 750ml corked and capped bottle, cuvee 2021-2022, with a best before date of June 2024. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A hazy orange colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a ring around the glass, while leaving some sparse lacing.
Aroma: Tart, apricot, wood, light funk.
Taste: Sour, tart, apricot, green, oak, light funk.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Not as complex as I hoped, and while the apricots were front and centre, they seemed a little underripe and green (or this is just a variety that isn’t one of my favourites).
