Lervig Freakshake

Brewery: Lervig Aktiebryggeri
Country: Norway
ABV: 6.5%
Style: American Milkshake IPA
Other Notes: Hops – Citra and Galaxy

Brewer Description: (from description on ratebeer) This milkshake IPA was inspired by Australia’s “Freakshakes” that throw every treat imaginable into a mashup of drink and dessert. So we took all our best malts, lactose, a squirt of vanilla, and the cherry on top is hundreds of kilos of Citra and Australia’s most sought after hop, the ultra-tropical Galaxy. Hoppy, super full-bodied and tropical, you might want to drink it with a straw.

Intro: A 500ml can, canned on 9th September 2019 and with a best before date of 9th June 2020. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy straw orange colour with a two finger white head that had decent retention while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Vanilla, lactose, light tropical fruit, mango and peach.
Taste: Moderately sweet, vanilla, lactose, hints of tropical fruit and a light bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: A little bit too sweet from the vanilla and lactose flavours. The tropical fruits were kind of weak for me and it would have been much better if it was stronger as it would have helped balance the sweetness.

Lervig Liquid Sex Robot

Brewery: Lervig Aktiebryggeri
Country: Norway
ABV: 7.9%
Style: New England / Hazy Double IPA
Other Notes: 35 IBUs

Brewer Description: (from Lervig website) Liquid Sex Robot is our DIPA that we double dry-humped with our favourite hops (Mosaic, Citra, Azacca and Ekuanot) for super tropical fruit flavours and low bitterness. We used Golden Promise, oats and wheat to give this beer the sexiest of bodies and a smooth, creamy head. We may as well be living in the future, because this is an orgasm in a can.

Boon x Mikkeller Goût Américain Oude Geuze

Brewery: Brouwerij Boon x Mikkeller ApS
Country: Belgium
ABV: 6.5%
Style: Belgian Lambic (Gueuze)
Other Notes: 100% Boon Lambic. Collaboration between Boon and Mikkeller

Brewer Description: (from bottle) Acetic sting, an off-flavor to us, an acquired taste for others. Such as with this blend of 1, 2 & 3 yr old lambic now, in the past some champagne bottles would be given the name “Goût Americain” (“American taste”) when they were typified by a high amount of volatile acidity. With this in mind, we developed this limited edition both high in acidity while maintaining a delicate balance that is both complex and fruity. Pair this special blend with sharp cheeses or simply as an aperitif.

Appearance: A mostly clear golden colour with a two finger white head that had dissipated quite quickly while leaving only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Funky, barnyard, oak, straw, grass, with hints of apple, lemon peel and apricot.
Taste: Moderate sweetness and acidity, white wine, grapes, oak, straw, lemon, with hints of funk and a touch of sourness on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Dry, medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: It was sweeter and less funkier in taste than I expected, but still refreshingly enjoyable with nice fruity notes of grape and lemon.
