Cantillon Sang Bleu

Brewery: Brasserie Cantillon
Country: Belgium
ABV: 6%
Style: Lambic – Fruit
Other Notes: Previously known as Camerise Lambic

Brewer Description: (from Untappd) Lambic blend with blue honeysuckle, or haskap, berries.

For the past two years, we’ve been making a fruited blend with Camerise berries in small quantities. These berries are slightly sweet with a beautiful acidity.

We didn’t have to look very far for a its new name… a blue fruit that makes a blood-red beer: Sang Bleu. Our friend Ammo has outdone himself once again, creating a superb new label to go with its new name.

Appearance: A lightly hazy cherry red with a purple tint, and a thin half finger pinkish head that dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Blackcurrant, blueberry and oak.
Taste: Lightly sour, a touch tart, blueberry, blackcurrant, and oak.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: While it doesn’t have the complexity of some other Cantillon blends, the aroma and flavours here are what I enjoy. Super fruity, balanced and drinks real easy. Great for a hot summer day.
