Intro: A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 7th June 2017 and poured into a plastic cup (all that was available at the hotel). Appearance: It poured a hazy dark yellow brown colour with a huge three finger off white head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma: Wheaty, bready, banana, orange and coriander. Taste: Sweet banana, wheat, bready, orange peel and lemon. But other than the banana, everything else was quite light. Mouthfeel: Creamy, light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall: This was not too bad, but the main thing was that the colour was quite unappealing.
Brewery: Brasserie du Comté Country: France ABV: 5% Style: Belgian Witbier
Brewer Description: (from website) (in French) Bière blanche de fermentation haute.

Intro: A 750ml bottle with a best before date sometime in 2017 (I forgot to record the exact date), and poured into an old fashioned glass. Appearance: It poured a cloudy straw yellow colour with a one finger white head with decent retention and some lacing. Aroma: Lemon, wheat, zestiness and pepper spice. Taste: Lemon, lemon zest, breadiness with a hint of orange and coriander. There was also some booziness on the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Overall: Again like the Ambree, I was getting some booze on the finish which was not ideal.

Intro: A 375ml bottle bottled in April 2015, poured into a Cantillon ballon glass. Appearance: It poured a cloudy golden colour with a huge three finger white head with good retention and leaves nice thick lacing. Aroma: Strong tangy citrus mandarin, lemon and floral aromas with only a hint of oak and brett. Taste: Citrus peel, orange, mandarin, flower petals, oak, pepper spice and some brett. Mouthfeel: Creamy, light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall: This was nice and refreshing. I would prefer a bit less of the floral element, but it was not a deal breaker.

Brewery: Clown Shoes Beer Country: USA ABV: 6% Style: Belgian Witbier Other Notes: Brewed and bottled by Mercury Brewing Co., Ipswich, MA.
Brewer Description: (from bottle) Clementine is a beer conceived in a dream, in the middle of a blistering beatdown of a day. We used clementine essence, sweet orange peel, coriander and summit hops to smack that mean day upside the head with a refreshing clown shoe.

Intro: A 12 fl oz bottle with a bottled on date of 2nd January 2015 and poured into a pint glass. Appearance: The beer poured a hazy orangey amber colour with a just over one finger white head that dissipated quite quickly leaving a very thin foamy layer. Aroma: Strong citrus and sweet orange in the smell with hints of coriander and grass. Taste: Definitely very orangey with citrus orange, orange peel and mandarin shining through. Hints of coriander and pine then a slight spicy but peppery finish. Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Overall: A good witbier that I would probably buy again. Admittedly I was iffy when I smelt the strong orange aromas, as I did not enjoy the other really orangey witbier that I’ve tried. But this was much better and restored my confidence somewhat on orange flavoured beers.
