Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 23rd July 2020. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with a one finger tanned head that dissipated fairly quickly and left some sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, and a touch of spice, maybe its cinnamon.
Taste: Smoked milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, leather, and a light chili spice on the throat.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Much better than Cherrbacca (which was released on the same day) in my opinion. Imperial Stouts with a splash of chili spice usually works for me, and continues to do so here. More roast and less pastry, and I’d probably like it even more.

My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.42
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.3

Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 23rd July 2020. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Dark dark brown to black in colour with a one finger tanned head that had good retention and left some nice spotty lacing.
Aroma: Roasty, chocolate, vanilla, artificial cherry, oak, and light cherry and rubber notes.
Taste: Light roast, chocolate cake, vanilla, light bourbon spice, with hints of dark fruit.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Not too sweet, so that’s a good thing, and there’s chocolate cake, but I’m not really getting black forest. I’m not fond of the cherry addition here and I think that it could have been a better Milk Stout or something, without the cherry.

My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.43
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.4

Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 24th September 2020. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Dark dark brown in colour with a one finger brown head that dissipated fairly quickly, but left some nice spotty lacing.
Aroma: Light roast, cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, with a splash of coffee and hints of peaty smoke.
Taste: Moderate to light chili spiciness, vanilla and light chocolate tones.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Love the chili in this as it’s prominent but not overpowering. However, the roasty malt and chocolate base was not strong enough to match the chili and even the vanilla flavours were showing up in stronger fashion.
