Cantillon Sang Bleu

Brewery: Brasserie Cantillon
Country: Belgium
ABV: 6%
Style: Lambic – Fruit
Other Notes: Previously known as Camerise Lambic

Brewer Description: (from Untappd) Lambic blend with blue honeysuckle, or haskap, berries.

For the past two years, we’ve been making a fruited blend with Camerise berries in small quantities. These berries are slightly sweet with a beautiful acidity.

We didn’t have to look very far for a its new name… a blue fruit that makes a blood-red beer: Sang Bleu. Our friend Ammo has outdone himself once again, creating a superb new label to go with its new name.

Intro: A 750ml corked and capped bottle, 2022 vintage, with a best before date of January 2032. Poured into a Cantillon ballon glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy cherry red with a purple tint, and a thin half finger pinkish head that dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Blackcurrant, blueberry and oak.
Taste: Lightly sour, a touch tart, blueberry, blackcurrant, and oak.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: While it doesn’t have the complexity of some other Cantillon blends, the aroma and flavours here are what I enjoy. Super fruity, balanced and drinks real easy. Great for a hot summer day.

Country: Belgium
ABV: 6.5%
Style: Lambic – Fruit
Other Notes: Blend°24, Season 21/22

Brewer Description: (from bottle) For this Perzik, we macerated vineyard peaches on two- and three-year old lambics. The lambics used in this blend originate from not less than five different barrels and fourteen different brews, of which the oldest was brewed in November 2018. The peaches were manually picked in the Mosel region in Germany, in between the steep hilled vineyards. The final fruit intensity clocks at 362 grams of vineyard peaches used per litre of finished Wijnbergperzik.
