Intro: A 750ml corked and caged bottle, with a neck label of 2022-2023, and a best before date of 21st December 2032. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A slightly hazy golden colour with a one finger white head that had pretty good retention, and eventually settled to a ring around the glass, while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Tart, sour peach gummy candy, green apple, lemon zest, with notes of damp wood.
Taste: Sour, tart, sour peaches, lemon, with a touch of green apple, damp wood, and funk.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: My first thought was that it was too sour, perhaps even a bit harsh. But the aroma was great, and this definitely grew on me, to the point that it became enjoyable.
