Brewer Description: (from can) Pineapple peach passion candy sour.

My rating: 3
My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.5
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.3

Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 9th May 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A murky dirty orange colour with a two finger off white head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet-ish canned pineapple, pear, peach and passionfruit.
Taste: Sweet and sour although mainly intense sweetness followed by a light tart sourness. Lots of fruit, pear, canned pineapple, canned peach, sugar, with notes of passionfruit and sharp lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: Sharp, light bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: Needed more tart and sourness to balance the oversweetness in my opinion, but it is pretty much what it’s described as.

Alvinne Hard Brett-xit

Brewery: Brouwerij Alvinne
Country: Belgium
ABV: 6.5%
Style: Sour Ale
Other Notes: Sweet 3/5, Sour 3/5 & Bitter 3/5

Brewer Description: (from bottle) Superblend of various barrels and fruits. Oak aged. Bitter, sweet & sour with a touch of regret.

My rating: 3
My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.83
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.7

Intro: A 330ml bottle, with a best before date of October 2023. Poured into an Alvinne teku glass. I knew this was a crazy gusher from past experience, so I quickly opened it but yet still felt the need to have a look first. The uneventful slow lag of a passing second, suddenly became a fast reacting chemical reaction, and I quickly poured it into the glass before I could lose more than a third of the bottle like last time!
Appearance: A slightly hazy rusty orange brown colour with an one finger beige head that had decent retention while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: A Flanders Red character, fruity, mixed berries, cherry, oak, plum, and a splash of vinegar.
Taste: Moderate sour and sweet, fruity, caramel, lightly tart, cherry, mixed berries, plum, oak, with notes of vinegar.
Mouthfeel: Dry, medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Nice, balanced and enjoyable to drink.

Magpie Juicybox – Blueberry & Yuja

Other Notes: 5 IBUs

Brewer Description: (from can) Sour Ale w/ blueberry & yuja

My rating: 4
My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.99
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.8

Intro: A 500ml can, canned on 1st July 2019. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy candy red colour mixed with a bit of purple and an almost two finger pinkish head that dissipated quickly while leaving only sparse to no lacing.
Aroma: Juicy, blueberry, yoghurt, with light citrus notes in the background.
Taste: Lightly sour, juicy, blueberry, mixed berries, and citrusy yuzu (which I just found out is the same as Yuja).
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The thickish sediment towards the end was not a good feeling though.
Overall: Very juicy and tasty. The berry and citrus flavours complemented each other and made for easy drinking. It may not be a complex beer, but minus the bottom of the bottle, I do enjoy drinking it.
