Intro: A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 2016 project. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A slightly hazy deep reddish maroon colour with a less than one finger pinkish head that faded quickly while leaving some sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Lightly tart, jammy, raspberry, oak, grape skin, with notes of cherry and apple cider vinegar.
Taste: Sour, tart, raspberry, blackcurrant, sharp, acidic, lemon juice, a touch vinous, and woody oaky notes.
Mouthfeel: Sharp, acidic, light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Like most Cascade wild ales, there is sharp acidity, but in this case, it wasn’t overwhelming, and balanced a bit by the sweet raspberry. This was enjoyable.

Intro: A 1 pint can, canned on 17th September 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A cloudy deep reddish purple colour with a one finger pinkish head that had decent retention while leaving nice lacing.
Aroma: Cherry coke with a splash of lemonade.
Taste: Sweet, syrupy sweet, with maybe slight sour notes. Cherry, candied lemon, coke, caramel syrup.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: It’s a self-styled Cola-style Sour Ale, but it’s actually way more sweet than sour, even more so than sour cola candies. The aroma is great and despite the sweetness, I do actually enjoy sipping this cherry, lemon, coke mix flavour.

Brewer Description: (from website) We recently had a zoom session with our buds from Cerebral and thought it would be funny to mesh our logos together and pay homage to one of our favorite Astrophysicists, Neil deGrasse Tyson. The advocate of science and free thought is often heralded as a champion of rationality and we are big fans. Y’all Need Science uses a big base of oats and wheat and adds a hop bill of Citra, Motueka, and Strata. Upping the dry hop yet again with an exclusive 2020 harvest, Y’all Need Science pours bright yellow with an aroma of assorted citrus and dank grass. The flavor profile is loaded with citrus, peach fruit cup, mango and weed in a crazy drinkable dank finish. Our #EQjuice equation checks out with an A+ here and our thirst for massive flavor through science is indeed satisfied.
