Omnipollo Bianca Noa Strawberry Pecan Mud Cake Lassi Gose

Brewery: Omnipollo
Country: Sweden
ABV: 6%
Style: Gose – Fruit
Other Notes: Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij (Belgium)

Brewer Description: (from website) Two of our beers once again collaborated and made another high voltage number. We sourced really expressive strawberries with aroma and flavor reminding you of freshly picked summer strawberries to go well with the nutty aromatics of Noa Pecan. Contains milk sugar.

Intro: A 440ml can, with a best before date of 10th September 2022. Poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: A not too appetising sewage brown colour with maybe a slight purple hue, and a half finger beige head that dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving only sparse lacing.
Aroma: A strawberry jammy cream sponge cake put together with a chocolate nutty mud cake.
Taste: Sweet and sour, melted Neapolitan ice cream mixed together, with the tart and jammy strawberry and the sweet and nutty chocolate front and centre, and the milky vanilla in the background.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: I get why this might be a love/hate type of beer. Other than the appearance, which I didn’t think was appetising, the aroma and flavours were my kind of thing, and it was a good liquid dessert.

Intro: A 500ml can, with a best before date of 14th November 2020. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy murky dark beetroot purplish red colour with a one finger pinkish head that had good retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Intense raspberry jammy, maple, vanilla, milkshake.
Taste: Sweet, raspberry jam, maple, pancake, vanilla, with a sour, tart, raspberry and lightly salty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: The aroma was intense and near perfect, but the combination of sweetness and thick body made it a sipper. I note that there is maple in this, but still, I would prefer it to be less sweet. Despite all this, it was good.

Intro: A 500ml can, with a best before date of 28th November 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A dark murky red with tints of purple and a two finger pinkish purple head that had excellent retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, vanilla, milkshake, maple, lightly tart, with notes of cherry.
Taste: Sweet, tart, cherry, cherry hard candies, maple, pancake, and vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: The tart cherry balances out the maple sweetness and the cherry hard candy flavours gives off a slight cough medicinal flavour that I like.

Intro: A 500ml can, with a best before date of 21st November 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A deep dark purple colour with a one finger purple head that had excellent retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Lightly sweet and tart, blackcurrant, grape jelly, jammy, with notes of peanut butter and peanuts.
Taste: Sweet, tart, buttery, grape jelly, blackcurrant, jammy, and peanut butter.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Enjoyable flavours as peanut butter and jelly does work. The base is sweet, but not too sweet as the tartness and peanut butter notes balance it out. But is this still a Gose?

Intro: A 500ml can, with a best before date of 7th November 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A deep dark purple colour with a one and a half finger purple head that had good retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, lightly tart, blackberry, maple, vanilla and booze.
Taste: Sweet, lightly tart and sour, blackberry, maple, pancake, and vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Sweet but the light tartness mostly balanced that out. The booze in the aroma was not ideal, but I didn’t get it in the taste so that’s good.
