3 Fonteinen Perzik Wit Late Amsden + Floerkes

Brewery: Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen
Country: Belgium
ABV: 5.6%
Style: Lambic – Fruit
Other Notes: Blend°26, Season 18/19

(translated to English) 3 Fonteinen Peach is obtained by maceration of hand-picked and manually pitted peaches on young traditional lambic, for at least four months, at a ratio of one kilo of peaches per liter. Then the fruit lambic is further assembled with young lambic and everything is bottled and the fermentation continues in the bottle. This Peach is a refined fruit lambic with exuberant aromas of stone fruits. The peaches come from Ludo Rosseels, one of the last, if not the last Belgian peach grower. Natural fruit, without the addition of juices, syrups, or sugars. Unfiltered and unpasteurized.

For this particular white peach lambic, the Late Amsden (80%) and Floerkes (20%) varieties were used and macerated for 5 months on 3 Fonteinen lambic in an oak barrel. The final fruit intensity is 444 grams of peaches per liter of white peach lambic.

Intro: A 750ml corked and caged bottle, blend°26, season 18/19, bottled on 21st December 2018. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A slightly hazy golden orange colour with pretty much no head and no lacing.
Aroma: Peach, oak, light funk, leather, with notes of wheat, lemon and honey.
Taste: Sour, tart, peach, lemonade, oak, light funk.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with soft to no carbonation.
Overall: Aroma and flavours were good, but the lack of carbonation doesn’t really work for me, and so I preferred blend°24 Perzik Wit Vroege Amsden a lot more.

Omnipollo Bianca Unicorn Lassi Gose

Brewery: Omnipollo
Country: Sweden
ABV: 6%
Style: Gose – Fruit
Other Notes: Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij (Belgium)

Brewer Description: (from website) We couldn’t think of a better way to describe a fantastical beer than through its fairytale counterpart. Bianca Unicorn Lassi Gose combines unadulterated joy with flavours that spark the imagination, now what does that taste like exactly? You tell us. Brewed with milk sugar.

Intro: A 440ml can, with a best before date of 24th November 2022. Poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: A rather unappetising brownish grey colour with a slight purple hue, and a one finger off white (tending towards grey) head that had decent retention and left some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet canned pineapple with light citrus zesty notes.
Taste: Sweet, probably too sweet, with a light salty sour in the background. The pineapple juice from canned pineapples, with lots of extra sugar mixed in, fruity hard candy, sweetened Yakult.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: This is a strange one. The appearance is a complete turn off for me. The aromas are nice, and the taste is generally my thing, and what I’d expect from a beer with ‘unicorn’ in it’s name, except that the whole thing is just way overly sweet. I think I would like it if there was more sourness to balance the sweet, but as it is, probably once is enough.

Omnipollo Bianca Raspberry Peach Marshmallow Lassi Gose

Brewery: Omnipollo
Country: Sweden
ABV: 6%
Style: Gose – Fruit
Other Notes: Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij (Belgium)

Brewer Description: (from website) This Biancas is a truly colorful and candy-like treat. We took more than a decadent amount of raspberries, added some juicy peaches, a dash of milk sugar and rock salt and rounded it off with our marshmallow treatment.

Intro: A 440ml can, with no canned on or best before date. Poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: A deep maroon colour with a just over one finger burgundy head that had good retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Red berries, marshmallow, vanilla, cream, black tea, with light peach and apricot notes.
Taste: Sweet and sour, raspberry puree, smashed peaches, marshmallow, cream, with a light note of lemon juice and salt.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, full bodied with soft to moderate carbonation.
Overall: Enjoyable sweet and sour aroma and flavours. Not as epic as Blackberry Blueberry Marshmallow, but still good nonetheless.

Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 24th November 2022. Poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: A nice looking beetroot purple with a one finger pinkish purple head that had decent retention and left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Cream soda, mixed forest berries, sweet canned pineapple, cream, vanilla.
Taste: Moderately sweet, cream soda, tart, pineapple, blueberry, cream, vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: It was interesting. It had good aroma and there was some similarities to the Bianca Blackberry Blueberry Marshmallow which was insanely good to me, but here I think the tartness of the pineapple just didn’t work as well with the other milkshake like qualities, and just didn’t make it as enjoyable to drink.

Omnipollo Bianca Blackberry Blueberry Marshmallow Lassi Gose

Brewery: Omnipollo
Country: Sweden
ABV: 6%
Style: Gose – Fruit
Other Notes: Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij (Belgium)

Brewer Description: (from website) Bianca Blueberry Maple Pancake Lassi Gose quickly became a favorite for us with its deep color, inevitably potent aroma and long lasting flavor. We furthered those characteristics by adding blackberries to offer a tiny dose of sharpness and lots and lots of marshmallows, milk sugar and rock salt to give it a soft, fluffy base on top of all those berries.

Intro: A 440ml can, with a best before date of 10th September 2022. Poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: It was a very nice deep beetroot purple colour with a one finger purple head that had good retention and left nice lacing.
Aroma: Cream soda, blueberry, marshmallow, vanilla.
Taste: Sweet, with a light tart note. Cream soda, blackberry, blueberry, marshmallow, vanilla, forest berry jam.
Mouthfeel: Milkshake smooth, full bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: This is like sweetened cream soda with juiced forest berries mixed in. I like cream soda, and I like forest berries, so clearly this is my thing. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side, but the flavours work so well for me, that I might be able to ignore this. Yum!
