Appearance: A nice hazy golden straw orange colour with an almost two finger white head that had pretty good retention and left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Lemon, lemon zest, lemon cake, vanilla.
Taste: Lightly sweet and lightly sour, lemonade, lemon zest, lactose, vanilla, lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Very enjoyable and extremely easy to drink. It’s as it says, a lemonade milkshake. I wish I got to try a can earlier as it’s about 7 weeks old now.

Pomona Island I Did Indeed… Very Much So

Brewery: Pomona Island Brew Co.
Country: England
ABV: 6.5%
Style: Sour Ale
Other Notes: Lemon Sour

Brewer Description: (from can) Did you say a Lemon Sour? Rounded out with milk sugar and a touch of vanilla, lending a little sweetness to the sharp, zingy lemon? I did indeed… very much so.

Intro: A 440ml can, canned on 2nd October 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A hazy straw golden colour with a two finger white head that had decent retention, while leaving some spotty lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, tart, candy, lemon cake, lemon, vanilla.
Taste: Sour, tart, sweet, lemon sour candies, sharp, acidic, lemon, vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Sharp sour acidic, light bodied, with moderate carbonation.
Overall: I loved the aroma as it was like dessert, and the taste was fine, but the mouthfeel didn’t quite match up. The sharp sour acidity was too much and reduced what could have been a nice easy drinking sour, to something that could only be sipped.

Staggeringly Good Souropod Imperial Triple Fruited Gose – Blackberry, Blackcurrant, Raspberry & Ginger

Brewery: Staggeringly Good Brewery
Country: England
ABV: 7.3%
Style: Imperial Gose
Other Notes: Blackberry, blackcurrant, raspberry & ginger

Brewer Description: (from website) Redefining the term ‘liquid’ this triple fruited Gose with Blackberry, Blackcurrant, Raspberry and Ginger is inspired by similar beers from breweries such as The Veil and doesn’t so much pour as crawl into your glass. Thick and intense is an understatement, this thing will wreck your glassware and probably ripyou’re your cupboard doors for the hell of it. Get it in your face!

Overall: Easy drinking, very fruity, alcohol well hidden, it’s smoothie like, but is it beer?

Intro: A 1 pint can, canned on 17th September 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A cloudy deep reddish purple colour with a one finger pinkish head that had decent retention while leaving nice lacing.
Aroma: Cherry coke with a splash of lemonade.
Taste: Sweet, syrupy sweet, with maybe slight sour notes. Cherry, candied lemon, coke, caramel syrup.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: It’s a self-styled Cola-style Sour Ale, but it’s actually way more sweet than sour, even more so than sour cola candies. The aroma is great and despite the sweetness, I do actually enjoy sipping this cherry, lemon, coke mix flavour.

Hop Hooligans Crowd Control

Brewery: Hop Hooligans
Country: Romania
ABV: 6%
Style: New England / Hazy IPA

Brewer Description: (from can) You probably felt the undercurrent. The timid, squeamish whisper of something new, slowly but surely coming your way. It will not bring you false promises, like short-term bursts of delight and brief moments of pause from your daily toils. It will creep into your brain, hijack your senses, turn you into an addict and ultimately ruin you. In time, it will roar and thunder, and the cold, lifeless broadcast of the daily routine will be forever silenced. Not the usual type of cheap manipulation, but rather something that earns your appreciation. The best kind of Crowd Control. Achieve hop bliss.
