Intro: A 330ml bottle with no bottled on or best before date. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with pretty much no head or lacing.
Aroma: Peat and leather dominates, with notes of chocolate, coffee and oak in the background.
Taste: Peaty, leather, tar, roasty, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, with light boozy notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: No surprise with an Islay BA that peat and leather dominate both the aroma and taste. If you enjoy peaty whisky, this could be your thing. Luckily, this is something that I like.

My ratebeer.com rating: 3.9

Intro: A 330ml bottle with no bottled on or best before date. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with pretty much no head or lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, licorice, oak, with light brandy notes.
Taste: Chocolate, caramel, coffee, light roast, cocoa, wood, licorice, boozy, with dark fruit and brandy notes.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: A nice sipper with the brandy coming through quite nicely. It’s been aged in my cellar for quite a while, and I think the last time I tried it was in 2017, although I don’t think I had any notes from that time. Despite this, in this case, I prefer the original base before the barrel aging.

Intro: A 750ml bottle with a best before date of 8th June 2021. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with pretty much no head other than some big bubbles that disappeared quickly, while leaving some sparse lacing.

Taste: Sour, tart, apricot, grape skin, lemon, oak, slightly vinous and with malty notes.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with soft to no carbonation.
Overall: Aroma was nice, but having low to no carbonation I think affected it overall for me, as I tend not to fully enjoy sour beers without carbonation.
