Intro: A 750ml corked and capped bottle, 2019 vintage, bottled in February 2020. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy ruby red colour with a big three finger pinkish orange head that had pretty good retention and left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Jammy, raspberry, peach, band aid, oak, tart, lemon zest.
Taste: Sour, tart, raspberries, peach, lemon zest, minerals, oak, light funk, lemon juice, acidity.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: Enjoyable fruit in the aroma and flavour, except that there is some acidity that is on the borderline of being too much, but just stays on the right side of things.

Brewer Description: (from bottle) 1, 2 & 3 year old lambic with 3 varieties of Reine Claude plums. The fresh, overripe, aromatic plums for this beer were harvested in Hageland (Belgium) and Northern France.

Intro: A 750ml corked and capped bottle, 2019 vintage, bottled in February 2020. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy golden orange colour with a two finger white head that had good retention and left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Sweet and tart, plum, plum skin, lemon zest, honey, green apple, dusty, funky, oak.
Taste: Sour, tart, some sweet notes, plum, lemon zest, candied grapefruit, peach, oak, and light funk.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: Very nice and enjoyable juicy aroma and flavours. I think I would really enjoy this Reine Claude plum varietal, as this is not the only lambic that has used Reine Claude plums in it, yet both were just outstanding.

Brewer Description: (from bottle) 1, 2 & 3 year old lambic aged in aquavit barrel exclusively made for Barr.

Intro: A 750ml bottle at Restaurant Barr, 2017 vintage, bottled in February 2018. Poured into a stemmed white wine glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy golden orange colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving some nice sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Funky, barnyard, apple, apple skin, citrus peel, hay and aquavit? (maybe).
Taste: Lightly sour, funk, barnyard, oak, orange peel, honey and apple peel.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: Aquavit is not something I’ve tried before, but this beer has shown that lambic in aquavit barrels does work. Lots of nice funky barnyard notes are balanced with oak, apple and citrus peel.

Intro: A 750ml bottle at Restaurant Barr, 2018 vintage, bottled in January 2019. Poured into a stemmed white wine glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy ruby red colour, with a one finger pinkish head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Raspberry, jammy, jello, cherry, and hints of peach.
Taste: Sour, tart, raspberry, cherry, jammy, jello, candy, and a hint of peach.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Wonderful fruity and jammy goodness, and although the peach may have been hidden a little, the other fruits shone through strongly. Good balance and complexity that means I could just drink this all day.

Intro: A 750ml bottle at Koelschip, 2018 vintage, bottled in January 2019. Poured into a stemmed white wine glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly but left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Apricot, stone fruit, vanilla and oak.
Taste: Light sour, tart, apricot, oak, light vanilla, floral and slight pepper on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Nice apricot and stone fruit aroma and flavors are balanced by oak and vanilla.
