Intro: A 1 pint can, canned on 1st May 2018. Poured into a MBCC 2018 taster glass.
Appearance: A cloudy dark orange colour with a one finger white head that had good retention and left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Pineapple, pine, peach, mandarin, sweet marmalade and a touch of bitter grapefruit peel.
Taste: Sweet, peach, pineapple, malt, honey, with light spice, light herbal and light bitterness on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Full to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Aromas were good, but on the whole, perhaps too sweet for my liking. The light bitterness at the end was not enough to balance the sweetness from the malt.

Brewski Red Robot DIPA

Brewery: Brewski
Country: Sweden
ABV: 7.5%
Style: American Double IPA
Other Notes: Double India Pale Ale. Only real fruit inside!

Brewer Description: (from bottle) Charming and cute as they are, the capabilities and intelligence of “emotional” robots are still very limited. They don’t have feelings and are simply programmed to detect emotions and respond accordingly. But things are set to change very rapidly and they just learned how to give robot hugs. So lets enjoy a hug from this little red robot with lots of love, passionfruit and pineapple.

Intro: A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 16th May 2019, ‘B6 robotbin’. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy yellow orange colour with a one finger white head that had decent retention and left some lacing.
Aroma: Pineapple, melon, mango and pine with hints of orange rind and zest.
Taste: Grapefruit and underripe fresh orange juice with touches of mango and pine resin.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: This was quite good, but I didn’t really get any of the passionfruit or pineapple that was supposedly there in the taste. There was a lot more citrus that the expected tropical fruits.

Brewski x Mikkeller Magic Valley DIPA

Brewery: Brewski x Mikkeller ApS
Country: Sweden
ABV: 7.77%
Style: American Double IPA
Other Notes: Double IPA w/ Guava. Only real fruit inside!

Brewer Description: (from bottle) It’s the witching hour on a dark, moonless night. You’re huddled with friends around a campfire in the woods far from town, taking turns telling stories. Someone has just recounted a particularly eerie tale about an encounter with a ghost, insisting it was true. You sit quietly, staring into the flames, reluctant to let on that it actually made your skin crawl. Then someone in the shadows clears his throat and begins to speak: “did you hear the one about… the magic valley?”

Appearance: A lightly hazy golden colour with a one finger white head that had decent retention and left some lacing.
Aroma: Melon, guava, lemon, pine and grass.
Taste: Lightly sweet, watermelon, lemon and pine with hints of caramel and guava.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a touch of booze here and there.
Overall: This was ok, but I felt that the guava didn’t really come through strong enough.

Intro: A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 19th June 2019, ‘B8 janssons’. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with a two finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly but left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Mango, pineapple, melon, lime and lemon with some herbal notes.
Taste: Lightly bitter, lime rind, lemon, herbal with hints of mango and pineapple.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and light alcohol here and there.
Overall: This was ok, but maybe a bit too much herbal notes and that light alcohol booziness was perhaps a distraction.

Brewski Conan DIPA

Brewery: Brewski
Country: Sweden
ABV: 8%
Style: American Double IPA

Brewer Description: (from bottle) It was a hoppy land that seemed to hold all flavors and aromas and dreams that shun the sun, with barley malt rattling in the lonesome winds, and the dark breweries brooding over all, not even lightened by the added hops which made squat shadows out of men; they called it Conan, beer of hoppyness and deep flavor.
