Intro: A friend brought back a six-pack to Hong Kong for me while this was still super fresh in February. Obviously there are times where I just like to sit back and enjoy a beer instead of always reviewing and as it is, two and a half months on, I’m down to my last bottle and so here’s the review. This 12oz bottle was bottled on 13 February 2015 and poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: The beer poured a slightly hazy golden orange colour with a nice one and a half finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly leaving nice stringy lacing.
Aroma: Intense aromas of tropical fruits especially pineapple and mango hit first, followed by some citrus grapefruit and a hint of bready malts finally ending with some hoppy pine.
Taste: Much like the smell, there was tropical pineapple, citrus grapefruit, some bready buscuity malts and a very nice bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Very crisp, light and with medium carbonation.
Overall: I had high expectations before trying it and it lived up to those expectations. It was a very easy APA to drink and this is a must buy if available for me. It was best when it was freshest. Now lets see about 3 Floyds distribution to Hong Kong… hmm, I guess distribution = friends!

My beeradvocate.com rating: 4.48
My ratebeer.com rating: 4.3

Intro: This 330ml bottle was dated best before 7 October 2015 and was poured into a Hoegaarden pint glass.
Appearance: The beer poured a hazy pale yellow with a one finger big bubble head that disappears fairly quickly.
Aroma: Excellent aromas! Very tropical fruit forward especially mango, pineapple, orange, peach and apricot.
Taste: Like the nose, the taste is of tropical fruits. Mainly mango and peach with a slight bitter lemon finish.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, crisp, medium carbonation, refreshing.
Overall: This was a good beer, very easy to drink and great for a hot summers day. The one thing stopping me from giving it a must buy 5, is that I would have preferred a higher ABV maybe up to around 6 or 7%.

ABV: 5.4%
Style: American Pale Ale (APA)
Other Notes: 35IBU, 100% cascade hops, 163 calories (per 355ml)

Brewer Description: (from Founders website) A testament to Cascade hops in a bottle, this medium-bodied pale ale has a refreshing citrus flavor and a distinctive floral hop aroma due to the aggressive addition of hops during fermentation. Appearance: Poured a cloudy orange/copper with some floating residue, small head with very little retention
Aroma: Grassy, pine, mango and citrus
Taste: Starts crisp and grassy with very light bitter taste, ends with some caramel and alcohol
Mouthfeel: Crisp and dry with nice carbonation
Overall: Feels dry but goes down easy. Also disappointed with the alcohol appearing at the end
