Threes x Alefarm Misnomer

Brewery: Threes Brewing x Alefarm Brewing

Style: American Double IPA

Brewer Description: Not much information available, but from what I can gather: “Hop Dust, Coconut Tropical Extract, Superfruit, Cornucopia, Soft. Collaboration with Alefarm.”

Intro: A 1 pint can, canned on 18th October 2017 and printed “make it right”. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy mango orange colour with a one and a half finger fluffy white head that had good retention and left nice lacing.
Aroma: Nice fruity grapefruit, pineapple and mango.
Taste: Lightly bitter grapefruit and lightly sweet pineapple and mango along with some grass, pine and a hint of coconut on the backend.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation.
Overall: My first Threes Brewing (although not Alefarm) beer and it’s nice, juicy and highly drinkable. Can’t wait to try more.

Brekeriet Purple Rain

Style: German Berliner Weisse
Other Notes: Brekeriet Purple Rain is part of our collection of beers known as the Sour Patch, fermented with different wild yeast strains and lactic acid bacteria cultures

Brewer Description: (from bottle) A very fruity and tasty Berliner Weisse fermented with blackcurrants, passion fruit, lactobacillus and brettanomyces yeast.

Intro: A 330ml bottle, bottled in August 2017, with a best before date of 30th August 2022. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy bright neon red purple colour with a one finger pink head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing.
Aroma: Lightly tart, blackcurrant and passion fruit with maybe a touch of blueberries.
Taste: Tart and sour blackcurrant and mixed berries with hints of passion fruit in the middle.
Mouthfeel: Crisp, light bodied with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: Enjoyable, tasty and easy to drink. Very refreshing.

Brekeriet Rhuboise

Style: American Wild Ale
Other Notes: Brekeriet Rhuboise is part of our collection of beers known as the Wild Bunch, fermented using brettanomyces and saccharomyces yeast strains

Brewer Description: (from bottle) A fruity, tart and elegant ale with brettanomyces yeast. Loads of raspberries and rhubarb are added during the secondary fermentation.

Intro: A 330ml bottle, bottled in August 2016, and a best before date of 16th August 2021. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy reddish orange colour with a one finger white head that had decent retention but left no lacing.
Aroma: Tart, mixed berries especially raspberry, and light leathery brett.
Taste: Lightly sour, touches of rhubarb and raspberry with a minerally, leathery, funky finish.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Given the nice strong fruity aromas, I was surprised at how weak the fruit was showing in the taste. It just felt like it was missing a little something.

Garage Project Hippity Dippity

Intro: A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 4th March 2018. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy golden straw yellow colour with a big three finger white head that had good retention and left nice lacing.
Aroma: Tropical mango, barnyard, leather and brett.
Taste: Lightly bitter and lightly sour, mango, brett, citrus peel, apricot and a touch of pepper spice.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation.
Overall: I think the brett was a bit overpowering with not enough sour, bitter or tropical fruit in the taste.

Intro: A 330ml can, canned on 21st July 2017. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden straw colour with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing.
Aroma: Tart, fruit forward passionfruit, peach and apricot with hints of lychee here and there.
Taste: Similar to the aroma with tart juicy passionfruit, peach and apricot.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with high prickly carbonation.
Overall: Although it lacks complexity, it is still very easy to drink and would be refreshing on a hot day.
