Appearance: A mostly clear golden colour with a just over one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly and left pretty much no lacing.
Aroma: Strong aroma of peaches and sour peach gummy candy with a hint of lemon.

Overall: Light, refreshing and thirst quenching with its low ABV.

Prairie Paradise

Brewery: Prairie Artisan Ales
Country: USA
ABV: 13%
Style: American Imperial Stout
Other Notes: Brewed and bottled by Krebs Brewing Co., Krebs, Oklahoma

Brewer Description: (from bottle) Imperial Stout brewed with coconut and vanilla.

My rating: 4
My beeradvocate.com rating: 4.11
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.9

Intro: A 12 fl. oz. bottle with a Julian botted on date of (not clear, but I believe) 22917, meaning it was bottled on 17th August 2017. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with about half a finger brown head that dissipates quickly and left only sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla with a touch of molasses and light roasted malts.
Taste: Chocolate and roasted malts followed by a boozy sweet bourbon kick before calming down with vanilla, coconut and licorice.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium to full bodied with low carbonation and some boozy kick.
Overall: I had a bottle a few weeks ago that was aged about a year that seemed to have much more coconut than I’m getting in this bottle, that has been bottled for about 6 months. This was not a bad bottle by any means, but for some reason, there is just less coconut than I remember, and that was something that I liked about it before.

Founders Green Zebra

Brewery: Founders Brewing Company
Country: USA
ABV: 4.6%
Style: Gose – Fruit
Other Notes: 10 IBUs

Brewer Description: (from can) Gose style ale. Brewed with watermelon and sea salt.

My rating: 3
My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.52
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.4

Intro: A 12 fl. oz. can, canned on 8th August 2017. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden colour with a two finger white head that had good retention and left nice lacing.
Aroma: Tart, candied watermelon with hints of wheat and salt.
Taste: Lightly tart, sweet watermelon hard candy, bubblegum and salt with an apple cidery finish.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: Although the salt tries to balance it out, this was still too sweet for my liking. Also the watermelon flavours were quite artificial, but I’d imagine that a beer with actual watermelon flavours wouldn’t taste like much. To be transparent, this is coming from someone who does not like watermelon.

Founders CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout)

Brewery: Founders Brewing Company
Country: USA
ABV: 11.7%
Style: American Imperial Stout
Other Notes: Barrel Aged Series. 2017 release. Imperial Stout brewed with chocolate and coffee aged in maple syrup – bourbon barrels

Brewer Description: (from bottle) CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Intro: A 12 fl. oz. bottle, bottled on 27th October 2017. Poured into a snifter.
Appearance: Black in colour with a one finger fluffy brown head that had decent retention while leaving some spotty lacing.
Aroma: Sweetish milk chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and coffee bean with hints of oak, maple and caramel.
Taste: Sweet bourbon and maple upfront with roasty coffee, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. There is light booziness on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Full to medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall: This was an excellent sipper. There was perhaps less maple than I expected, but still just enough to make an impression with the nice bourbon flavours.
