Intro: A 440ml can, canned on 7th June 2021, and a best before date of 7th December 2021. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy darkish orange colour with a two finger white head that had good retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Citrusy orange and grapefruit zest, tropical, mango, papaya, peach, honeydew melon, grass, lightly dank.
Taste: Moderately sweet, papaya, melon, with notes of citrus rind and grapefruit zest for a lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: A bit too sweet for me. The bitterness helps, but not enough. There was nice fruit throughout though and the alcohol is well hidden.

Taste: Moderate sweetness, tropical mango, citrusy orange rind, orange, grass, pine, dank, and maybe some light bitter notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Nice fruit and dankness, but I prefer less sweetness.

Soma Combo IPA

Intro: A 330ml can, lot 069, canned on 2nd October 2018 and with a best before date of 2nd January 2019. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A hazy dark orange colour with a slightly less than two finger white head that had decent retention while leaving some decent lacing.
Aroma: Mango, papaya, melon, orange, citrus rind, pear and a hint of pine.
Taste: Lightly sweet, juicy, mango, apricot, pineapple, followed by light bitterness, grapefruit rind and citrus zest.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: A great tasting NEIPA that is both juicy and easy to drink.

La Pirata Black Block Bourbon Aged

Brewer Description: (from website) Russian Imperial Stout Bourbon Barrel Aged. The “Bourbon” version of Pearl Pirate. An even more incendiary beer warms much heart and soul.

Intro: A 330ml bottle, bottled on 12th September 2017 and a best before date of September 2022. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with pretty much no head and no lacing.
Aroma: Nice bourbon, vanilla and liquorice with chocolate, cocoa, roasty malts and alcohol in the background along with hints of oak.
Taste: Lightly sweet beginning with bourbon, vanilla, raisins and dried dark fruits followed by a light roast, chocolate and cacao.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium bodied with low carbonation and a lightly boozy finish.
Overall: A very nice RIS with great bourbon flavours coming through. Body could have been heavier, but despite this, it was still very good.

BIIR Sweet-Sour Red Series 2014

Brewer Description: (from bottle) BIIR Sour Sweet is a 100% lambic beer, aged 12, 18, 24 and 36 months in French oak barrels. It has 450gr/l of whole cherries and raspberries, without added sugar. Blended by Gunther Bensch (Montaigu), the maker of Triple Gueuze. Lambic beer is a traditional Belgian style beer with a combination of red fruits to get an unique and balanced sour and a sweet taste. It is made exclusively in the Zenne Valley.

Intro: A 375ml corked and capped bottle, bottle no. 870/3800, with a best before date of June 2017. Poured into a Cantillon ballon glass.
Appearance: A nice clear dark ruby red colour with a thin soapy pinkish head that dissipates quickly while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet and sour red berry fruit with cherries and raspberries leading the way. This is followed by blackcurrants and oak with hints of vinegar and funk.
Taste: Lightly sweet and lightly sour cherry, raspberry and oak with a hint of red wine.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with low carbonation.
Overall: It’s more sweet than sour which is not my preference, but it is still an interesting and very nice Fruit Lambic.
