Intro: A 1 pint can, with a Julian canned on date of 18059, meaning that it was canned on 28th February 2018. Poured into a MBCC 2018 stemmed tasting glass.
Appearance: Dark dark brown to black colour with a half finger mocha head that dissipated fairly quickly, but left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Smokey, char, roasted malts, dark chocolate and milk chocolate.
Taste: Roasty malts, bitter dark chocolate, smoke/ashy, followed by creamy milk chocolate, with only a very small hint of maple and maybe even some dark fruit.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium to full bodied with moderate to low carbonation.
Overall: A nice and enjoyable Baltic Porter, but I’m not getting much of the maple that it is supposedly brewed with.
