Intro: A 750ml corked and caged bottle, with a neck label of 2022-2023, and a best before date of 6th July 2033. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A nice dark brown colour with a near one finger beige tanned head, that had good retention, and left nice lacing, much like coffee crema.
Aroma: Light coffee roast, chocolate shavings, with a hint of tartness, plum, and maybe redcurrants.
Taste: Tart, green apple, plums, light roast, coffee. But nothing really lasts, it just stops abruptly.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with high to moderate carbonation, maybe too much.
Overall: The flavours were enjoyable, but I think the high carbonation ended it a bit abruptly, which meant that it wasn’t as good as I felt it could have been. I preferred the Ethiopia version over this.

Intro: A 750ml corked and caged bottle, with a neck label of 2022-2023, and a best before date of 7th July 2033. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A very nice dark brown in colour with a one finger beige tanned head, that had good retention and left nice lacing, much like very nice coffee crema.
Aroma: Light coffee roast, a light tartness, red berries, raspberry, redcurrants, dark chocolate, and a slight nutty finish.
Taste: Tart, green apple, redcurrant, plums, light roast, coffee, chocolate, with a slight bitterness on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Would have loved for an even stronger coffee influence, perhaps it has faded a bit, given a year or two, but still an interesting blend that was enjoyable to drink. Preferred this over the Rwanda version.
