Odd Breed Fresh Off the Farm with Peaches

Brewery: Odd Breed Wild Ales
Country: USA
ABV: 6.2%
Style: Wild Ale
Other Notes: Wild Ale with Fresh Peaches. 2020 Harvest. Batch 2

Brewer Description: (from bottle) This year’s version of Fresh Off the Farm with Peaches was blended from two turbid mashed wild ales aged 10 months and a Saison barrel aged 14 months. We transferred the blend onto nearly 800 pounds of fresh UF Suns peaches that we picked up fresh off the farm in Fort Pierce, Florida. The result is a beer that is extremely juicy and fruity. Our mixed culture provides a funky and dry finish with moderate acidity.

Intro: A 750ml corked and capped bottle, batch 2, bottled on 11th June 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden yellow colour with a less than two fingered white head that dissipated fairly quickly and left only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Tart, peach dominates, with light funky notes.
Taste: Sour, tart, peach, funky, oak, with a splash of lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Very enjoyable as peach dominates both the aroma and flavour. I think it would be interesting if the funk was even stronger.

Intro: A 750ml bottle with a best before date of 8th June 2021. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with pretty much no head other than some big bubbles that disappeared quickly, while leaving some sparse lacing.
Aroma: Tart, grape, apple, lemon, light funk, with notes of wood.
Taste: Sour, tart, apricot, grape skin, lemon, oak, slightly vinous and with malty notes.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with soft to no carbonation.
Overall: Aroma was nice, but having low to no carbonation I think affected it overall for me, as I tend not to fully enjoy sour beers without carbonation.
