Intro: A 750ml corked and capped bottle, with a best before date of 13th June 2029 (10 years). Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A slightly hazy deep red colour with a purple hue, with a one finger pinkish head that had decent retention but settled to a nice replenishing fluffy cap, while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, grape skin, red wine grapes, cherry, oak, with notes of funk, leather, and black olives.
Taste: Lightly sour, grape skin, red wine, vinous, black cherry, oak, herbal, funk, and black olives.
Mouthfeel: Dry, medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: I wasn’t sure what to make of the aroma and flavour upon the first sip, but I definitely grew to enjoy it.
