Omnipollo Antropomorf

ABV: 0.3%
Style: Low / No Alcohol Beer
Other Notes: Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij (Belgium)

Brewer Description: (from can) Double dry-hopped double vanilla double mango smoothie pale ale.

My rating: 1
My beeradvocate.com rating: 2.9
My ratebeer.com rating: 2.5

Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 8th August 2020. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A not very appetising murky dark orange brownish green colour with a one finger white head that dissipated immediately to nothing and left only very sparse lacing. Lots of little black sediment floaties too.
Aroma: Vanilla, milky smoothie, and mango, with a touch of mandarin.
Taste: Moderate sweetness, milky, vanilla, soda, fruity, mango, mandarin, although a little watery.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: I must admit I felt a little cheated when I found out this was a low alcohol beer with only 0.3% ABV, especially since this was like really expensive soda. The pour and look was absolutely terrible as it just looked really unappetising. The aroma was like a nice smoothie, but then taste went back to something poor again, as other than the vanilla, the fruit flavours were really light/watery, and just didn’t work for me.

Omnipollo Karpologi

ABV: 3.5%
Style: Sour Ale

Brewer Description: (from can) Pineapple peach passion candy sour.

My rating: 3
My beeradvocate.com rating: 3.5
My ratebeer.com rating: 3.3

Intro: A 330ml can, with a best before date of 9th May 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A murky dirty orange colour with a two finger off white head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet-ish canned pineapple, pear, peach and passionfruit.
Taste: Sweet and sour although mainly intense sweetness followed by a light tart sourness. Lots of fruit, pear, canned pineapple, canned peach, sugar, with notes of passionfruit and sharp lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: Sharp, light bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: Needed more tart and sourness to balance the oversweetness in my opinion, but it is pretty much what it’s described as.

Intro: A 440ml can, with a best before date of 19th August 2020. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A hazy murky dark orange colour with a two finger white head that had excellent retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, tropical mango, citrus pith and rind, orange, sweet mandarin, and a touch of pine.
Taste: Very citrus fruit forward, lightly bitter, orange zest and pith, sweet mandarin, with hints of mango.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: I’m usually not a big fan of Triple IPAs, but this was very enjoyable with a good balance between bitter and sweet on top of nice fruitiness and well hidden ABV.
